The General Purposes group was set up to advise the Council on handling specific issues as and when necessary and to develop complaints policies and other documents as required by law; in addition to undertaking the evaluation of the applications received in respect of the community fund. Contact with the CVS and other voluntary groups is done by Cllrs who sit on this group.
The work of this group has been extended to include public relations, in particular providing the editorial for the Parish Council Newsletter which is published every 3-4 months in the Trader magazine and contact with the press. This group will monitor the new website and consider future editorial and the evaluation of any questionnaires that are posted using this vehicle.
The General Purposes group have been closely involved with the Roll of Honour Committee and are co-ordinating the refurbishment of the War Memorial in preparation for the 100 years anniversary in August 2014.
Future projects include the planned Library refurbishment and the Village Improvement project, this group will be involved in respect of making sure the public relations is coordinated.
