The awards evening will take place on Friday 14th October at The Gild Hall, Church Road, Formby at 8.00 pm.
We are asking for residents to nominate people for these awards which will then be passed on our the judging panel for them to decided the winner. If there is more than 3 nominations they will be reduced to 3 finalists with the winner being announced on the Awards Night Presentation.
The Formby Festival will host the inaugural School Choir Competition for Formby school children, which the Formby Parish Council have organised. The Parish Council undertook a survey of under 18s in the community in the autumn of 2015 and this was one of the suggestions made by our young residents. The event will be held on Friday evening 15th July and will hopefully become an annual event.
This consultation runs until the 31 July and Sefton residents are being asked help develop a new Vision for Sefton: "The Vision will guide long term planning - helping us to work together to stimulate growth, prosperity and to see our communities flourish." There will be an event at Formby Library on 14th July from 1-2pm as part of this public engagement.
Residents will be receiving information in the post from Sefton Council regarding changes to the refuse collections. An additional brown bin is available at no extra charge by phoning Sefton Council switchboard, who will then organise this for you.
Jim Walker (Environment Agency) has stated that notice will be served on five satellite pumping stations by the end of next month. These include Rufford, Clay Brow, Boundary Brook, Kew, and Banks Marsh. Others may well follow. This will begin a two year countdown to closure of satellite pumping operations within the catchment.
The Environment Agency is to hold a series of engagement events for those most affected. The first will be for farmers and landowners and will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 2nd July 2015 in the local NFU offices (1 Moss Lane View, Skelmersdale, WN8 9TL).
