Town and Parish Councillors play an important role in their communities and the elections for the 10 town and parish councils in Sefton that are taking place in May 2019.
If you have ever wondered what being a Town or Parish Councillor involved then there is a drop in session being held on Wednesday 27th February starting at 6 pm in the Venue at Maghull Town Hall. The session will go on until 8 pm and will cover the election process including timescales as well as the responsibilities and the time councillor duties take. Councillors are elected for a four year term on an “all out” basis i.e. all the seats on a parish council are elected at the same time so all seats are up for election in the 10 parishes. The session will be attended by clerks from the parishes and is open to anyone who is interested in standing in any of the parishes which include Aintree Village, Ince Blundell, Hightown, Lydiate, Melling, Formby, Sefton and Lunt, Thornton, Little Altcar and Maghull.
Unfortunately, we have had to postpone the Pride of Formby Awards until March 2019. Further updates will follow. In the meantime, you can still nominate a community hero by using this form and delivering it to the library or by using the Survey Monkey Link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/POFA
