The public consultation will run from 31st October to 12th December 2016. The results of this will be analysed and the Plan amended as appropriate. The final draft Plan is then forwarded to Sefton Council who will run a further consulation on the modified Plan. The results of this second consultation will be sent to an Independant Examiner who will review the Plan, the comments received from the consultations and the evidence base. The Examiner may decide to remove sections of the Plan if he considers that there is good reason to do so. The Plan will then go to a referendum of the residents of Formby - it is estimated that this will be approximately June 2017. If the Plan is approved at the referendum then it will become a "Made" Plan, which means that it will be a legal planning document and Sefton MBC must apply the policies to all planning decisions relating to Formby.
